So interesting and inspiring! Thank you Siofra!

Really struck by Moriarty's thoughts on society where he asks "Does society nourish you or vampire you?"

And "Where I am and who I am is so connected."

I fully understand him as I've just been to visit family in Dubai (got stuck there too on account of flights cancelled due to the flooded airport - that'll teach them to stop meddling with the weather then...) and was amazed how quickly I became someone else completely alien to myself. How people survive there when all there is to do is shop in a desert mall is beyond my comprehension. All I saw were soul-less people and I nearly became one in 12 days.

Thank goodness for my yoga practice and substack to keep me sane!

I asked John once about meeting Ted Huges. He said is was like meeting a mountain, talking to a mountain. Meeting John was similar, he was a 'a great being' as he would say himself. I still have many cassette tapes of him from a lecture series he gave one winter - a tour of dreamtime Ireland. He spent two lectures on each province and it's deities be turning to the centre, An Mídhe for the final talk. Extraordinary person; outlandish, profound, uniquely Irish.

I would think of John as far more of a man and a mountain than Ted Hughes . You are lucky to have met him - I feel I did through Michael Morris . They’d talk on the phone for hours when I lived in cloncurkney with Michael near Jampa ling . They were a great support to each other in their respective voyages

Wonderful blog, like a delta of intersecting cultures and timeliness. "The men of bags from Greece", would like to know more of them? Most of all would love to walk on "undamagable ground" A longing to return ignited!

It’s says the Fir Bolg came from Greece with their bags , they are one of the Invaders of Ériu, they fought the Tuatha de danann in battle …

Once again so worthwhile reading abbout Danú glad to hear of and see the 3 Paps of Kerry; it is essential we venerate them! Did not know of Bilé but know of him now. Very interesting to hear of the Dws I think Dánu of the Bali Hindus. I can see how she is similar to Demeter and the mother of several gods like Lugh and Manannán

MM music way ahead of it's time, so contemporary now. Has Ms. O'Donovan inherited the Moriarty Mantle?. Love TS idea, maybe the only way to counter Kalergi Plan 🧙😂

He sure was. Can't get Ériu's Child anywhere now. That's the antidote.

Well done Siofra. I used "Eriu's Child" as the score for the Splanc documentary for TG4 made on the constructing of Bru Moytura

Dewi Danú, the Hindu Balinese water goddess, I already revere her! Glad you have ellucidated us on Danú being the supreme mother goddess. As you indicate the Paps in Kerry, which I hope to visit some time can easily stand for her breasts. Its largely thanks to you and Delores that I've been brought into these things! 1
