Such a lovely account of Holland and Lilli with her aunt. I particularly like the photo of the China Town part and also the wee toy just before the photo of your Aunt and Lilli Noaqw a lot about China is interesting starting with the stone jade which they are keen on and as I've said the Chinese/Lunar new year, which cycles between 12 animal I certainly prefer to the more usual 1 January which isn't really the new year, the shortest day being the real solar new year @ least in the northern hemisphere. The red light district sound disappointing however I once saw on a TV show the most attractive naked woman in windows, red light most smoking. They looked gorgeous! I'm ashamed to say I was attracted to them! The wooded area of Amsterdam is attractive and Spinoza the Portuguese Jewish philosopher whom I admire a lot lived in the Hague I'd very much like to read Pie in The Sky especially as it's by a gemmologist
