Loved reading about the Black Madonna and poor Henry :(

I never knew there was so much to see at Rocamadour; I've been about 20 years ago. Entranced by all the detail of the Knights Templar too.

How amazing that you felt compelled to visit and light a candle for Henry. Maybe you should get a past life regression to see if there is a connection with him?

Well it’s a much longer story. I’m writing a novel in which the Young King figures strongly. I’m shifting timelines. Also he’s in my ancestral line. I was chatting to him up there, it was interesting. He is the forgotten King, but he was glorified in tournaments as ‘the Prince of Chivalry’, adored in his lifetime, but his desperate need to be King, better than his brothers, led him to war against his family, while his mother Eleanor of Aquitaine was locked up for 16 years, having also led a war/ rebellion against Henry II.

That's just astounding! What a tragic hero he was and no doubt his mother doted on him, hence locking her up. Fascinating that Henry is in your ancestral line.

I'm looking forward to reading the novel, meanwhile you've stirred my interest in South West France again or as the French call the region, 'Nouvelle Aquitaine'

Once, several years ago, an Egyptian mystic who wrote to me explained the mystery of the Black Madonna as that which was beyond exoteric tradition. That She was linked to Gnosticism and the Darkness within where one finds all the Silence.

The transformative aspect was linked to all underground waters, to the unconscious and the void.

I was told that there were unique pilgrimage paths to her sanctuary.

These times are requiring a deep dive into the darkness within, that we can close this old cycle without dragging along our ghosts.

Excellent piece, well written and well researched.

That’s really fascinating , I hadn’t heard that . I’ve felt like I’m in the under waters since being at her shrine .

Perhaps she is speaking to you. Waters can terrify, but also purify, yes?

I would recommend that you pay close attention to your dreams.

Often, especially when she is strong in your life, she can communicate in them.

Often, at first they can seem quite disturbing, even scary. However if one sticks to them they will reveal a treasure trove. I like to say that it has to do with a meeting of minds. Symbols are very important, yes, however I think that paying attention to the key events, and meditating upon them in a fashion that allows them to live without forcing any meaning upon them is also important.

Dreams are a blessing, Siofra. Not everyone has them.
