The trap and the translation. Ya. Beautiful work. God, there's such a massive sync with something me and my friend were laughing about last night having this article appear in my inbox this morning...or maybe there's none, I'm just mistranslating one but anyway An Gaiste agus an aistriúchán will be today's words to learn and remember in Irish. Cheers Siofra.
Hey Siofra, was saying earlier about sync and all the rest which is pertinent...relevant...or whatever, but anyway...was wondering how I'd introduce "Uncle Thad" all along into my "Mulliganland" but thanks, certainly in part to you...here he is!
Go seasca dia idir tú agus dochar.
(May God stand between you and harm.)
If you hate it however...I apologize for nothing! hehe
You have such interesting stories! I am dipping a toe into Buddhism but with the previsor that probably I will fail to understand it as I fail to understand most things. It is a great practice at least to flex the muscle of the mind, and maybe be okay with understanding that there is a lot that you don't nor will ever comprehend! Many people don't dare to admit that!
Thank you Rebecca. Yes it took me a long time to admit that I had failed! But I have much more fun now with mantra and gods. I try not to take it all so seriously but meditation is still a cornerstone in my life and Buddhism is a very beautiful tradition, I think that it takes a life of complete devotion and posssibly isolation to really understand the teachings. It is very profound. RIght now I see myself as a householder, enjoying the world. Maybe in older age I will retire in contemplating. I was just too young and hungry for the world.
In my 20s I was stomping around being an angry activist. Now I am trying to combine social justice with forgiveness and compassion, looking at things with the complexity that they merit. Oh the beauty of foresight!
'Something' has to be empty of something, and that's the conundrum! Loved these stories of your life among the dust and heat, and, like you, my eyes too would have been on the parakeets! Interesting about St Valentine...
Ah, there you go! I love your stories. It's all in the stories - and the parakeets, definitely the parakeets. The texts are just something for the mind to be occupied with, while we dive into the emptiness and the no-thingness, the inexpressible expansiveness of our wild imaginations, where infinite love and infinite creation exist 🤗
Truth, as we know, is not found in texts, Rituals or temples. Forget the mind and flow in the stream that once it becomes the river flows on and becomes the ocean 🌊 now that's all we need, the nothing that is everything and without effort. Happy days. Thanks Siofra, the Welsh have their Valentine's Day in February, their Saint is buried on the Isle of Anglesey.

Thank you. What does An Gaiste agus an aistriúchán mean?
"The trap and the translation."

Haha this is great! I was also crap at Buddhism.
Happy Valentines Day Siofra

I really enjoyed this Blog Siofra, food for thought!
I agree about the need for Valentine’s Day that love should be practiced everyday
