I'll write it out again. While I'm not political I feel there is little to hold up either with Soviet Russia or present day Russia although to be quite fair the old Russia did what it could for the rank and file people. It is a federation and any of the republic can succeed from it then why attack Ukraine!? However anyone who's ever been there has never cared for it

I love Russian literature, painting, ballet… i don’t care about politics. the west has always condemned Russia, it’s so boring and predictable. Why is the USA any better? They are the war mongers of planet earth. They should be condemned.

The surreal school-can I call it that?

Is there another in fine art that is more focused on dreams and dreaming?

I am still impressed with the fact that famous artists find inspiration in this fleeting world, and thus continue to ignite query and exploration in a way that fascinates and captivates both imagination and subtle faculties.

Odilon Redon https://www.thecollector.com/odilon-redon-most-fascinating-artworks/ another of my favourites of all time, another dreamer... we invest so much in this world, we worry about it, trash it, bend it, use it, murder it... when all the time, dreaming under a tree we would find our answers...

It was our friend Anne who introduced my to Chaggal and Mattisse both of whom I disgracefull had not heard of. Gosh that was 10 years ago. If Chaggal help

start the surrealist movement which I am keen as with existentialism, that's great! I certainly like the painting of the poet and the bird. Well I suppose he could only have found life freerer and better than in Russia

A life without Chagall. Loved him since i was a teenager. Surrealism, we need a revival with the horrors in this world... these days it might be better to emigrate to Russia than from it...

Well now while I'm not political I think few can hold up Soviet Russia or present Russia as examples although to be quite honest the old Russia did what it could for the rank and file people. It was/is a federation but then why attack Ukraine when it states any of the repilics can succeed. It is obvious Stalin and his successors including Putin had majority support while they were there. However do any of us wish to go there!? Anyone who's been there has never cared for it
